Trump Sends a Surrogate to Debate

Former President Donald Trump will not attend the first Republican debate, but he will send a surrogate on his behalf.

Trump’s son and his fiancé, Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle, will attend the first GOP debate in the former president’s absence, according to reporting by the Daily Caller.

“We’re excited to see all of our friends in Milwaukee on Wednesday in support of President Trump. We’re confident that in 2024, GOP voters will reject the RINO establishment and re-nominate President Trump in a landslide,” Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle told the Caller.

The two plan to do media appearances for Trump while also promoting their own Rumble shows.

However, Fox News may be trying to keep them out of the “spin room”.

A spin room is where representatives of the candidate give post-performance reviews to the media after the debate.

Bret Baier, a co-moderator, said Trump’s surrogates would need to be “invited” to the room by a member of the media in order to participate.

Guilfoyle expressed disappointment in the policy to Newsmax.

“I think, unfortunately, for a media company that I used to work for, you would expect better,” she said. “But this is just really pathetic messaging. They’re just stepping out on themselves here. It’s backfiring spectacularly. It’s taking distraction away from the focus on the debate.”

“And I’d just like to see somebody try to stop Don Jr. and me from going someplace,” she added.

Trump Wont Debate At All

Former President Donald Trump confirmed over the weekend that he will not participate in any of the primary debates.

“The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had, with Energy Independence, Strong Borders & Military, Biggest EVER Tax & Regulation Cuts, No Inflation, Strongest Economy in History, & much more. I WILL THEREFORE NOT BE DOING THE DEBATES!” he announced on Truth Social.

He will instead sit down with ex-Fox star Tucker Carlson for an interview.
