DeSantis Preps Twitter Launch, Trumpworld Laughs Him Off

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will finally announce his much anticipated presidential campaign later today on Twitter, which has drawn mockery from allies of current frontrunner former President Donald Trump.

According to three source with knowledge of the plan who spoke to NBC News, DeSantis will announce his campaign during a Twitter Spaces with Twitter CEO Elon Musk.

Spaces is the audio chat platform on Twitter where users can essentially join a mass audio-only call. Users who join can live-react with emojis but must request to speak, and it’s highly unlikely DeSantis will take questions from the random crowd.

After the Spaces event, the DeSantis campaign will drop a lunch video and the governor will prepare to hit the campaign trail with visits to several states planned.

At the same time, back in Miami, team DeSantis will be hosting a high-end, two day fundraising retreat at the Four Seasons hotel. Big money donors will receive briefings direct from campaign staff.

Musk spoke to the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday, confirming his participation but also emphasizing that it did not equate to an endorsement of DeSantis.

However, an anonymous member of DeSantis’ team said that the campaign viewed it as a clear sign of support.

Team Trump Mocks Twitter Launch

A former Trump advisor roasted the DeSantis campaign to Politico.

“Announcing on Twitter is perfect for Ron DeSantis,” the person said. “This way he doesn’t have to interact with people and the media can’t ask him any questions.”

A spokeswoman for Make America Great Again Inc, a PAC backing Trump, released a separate statement.

“This is one of the most out-of-touch campaign launches in modern history. The only thing less relatable than a niche campaign launch on Twitter, is DeSantis’ after party at the uber elite Four Seasons resort in Miami.”

Trump has routinely hurled attacks at DeSantis and will undoubtedly have much to say after the he officially enters the race tonight.

  1. Wrong timing for DeSantis, because most conservatives are very decent folks and will not voter for an “ingrate” who Trump helped. His mentors just killed his political career because this move stained his true character. Ingratitude is a very serious character flaw that defines the person more deeply because it encompasses more negative attributes like: liar, greedy, deceptive, devoid of values, and all the negatives that goes with it. Had he waited until Trump’s term, he would have all of Trump’s supporters. He would have been a good VP for Trump to introduce him to the WORLD STAGE of politics, and get world leaders get to know him first. I guess he listened to RINOs who certainly will ruin his political career, early on. Too bad.
